CLEAN COMMUNITIES

Text Box: The Clean Communities Program was created in 1986 with funding from taxes levied on the sale of litter generating products. In 2002, the Clean Communities Fund was reauthorized. Twenty-one counties and five hundred fifty-nine municipalities are eligible to receive funding during 2009.
Jackson Township, in conjunction with the New Jersey Clean Communities Act, is actively involved in year round campaign to keep Jackson Clean and Green. Focusing on roadside litter cleanup, we enthusiastically involve all non-profit organizations, businesses and residents to participate.
Through a grant provided by the New Jersey Clean Communities act, we sponsor two annual clean ups and promote Clean Communities through education. In addition, programs such as “Operation My Town” and “Adopt a Road” all add to our goal of keeping Jackson Clean and promoting pride in our community. One of our
