Dear Fellow Jackson Residents,
I am reaching out to let you know of recent legislation that increased the income eligibility limits for the Property Tax Reimbursement Program. The program limits for all applicants, whether single, married or in a civil union have been changed to $60,000 or less for 2007, $70,000 or less for 2008, and $80,000 or less for 2009. The income limits will increase annually thereafter by the amount of the maximum Social Security benefit cost-of-living increase.
As a result of this increase, some senior and disabled residents who did not qualify because their total 2007 income was too high, are now eligible for a 2007 reimbursement, provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.
Residents who now qualify for a reimbursement solely because of the increase in income for 2007 have until March 31, 2009 to file an application.
To file an application or may need to have their questions answered please reach out to the 30th District Legislative Office of Senator Robert W.
Singer, Assemblyman Joseph R. Malone, III and Assemblyman Ronald S.
Dancer. The legislative office is prepared to assist you in filing your application or answering your questions. Their telephone number is 732-901-0702.
I wanted to provide this information to you because as your Mayor I not only look for ways to save the Township money but I am also always looking for ways to save the residents money.
As always you know I am available to you and can be reached at 732-928-1200 ext 211.
Sincerely,
Michael Reina
Mayor
