The Jackson Township Clean Communities program is lead by Coordinator Patricia Wood and Assistant Coordinator Connie Sidor. We sponsor two major cleanups per year and have cleaned hundreds of miles of roadway over the past 5 years, maintaining Jackson Towsnhips’ beautiful scenery while contributing to a safe , clean environment. We solicit Jackson based non-profit organizations and pay them, through the NJCC grant allocation, “Mini-grants” for their participation. To date we have sponsored over 50 organizations, who have collected thousands of dollars in mini-grants for their efforts. Each organization must complete a registration form and fill out a W-9 (located on the following pages) Grant monies are also used in the educational process. With the endorsement of the Jackson Board of Education, we have sponsored poster contests, performances by traveling shows related to recycling and community cleanups, purchased paper recycling containers for the elementary schools, and assisted in forming an E C O Club at JMHS. We have also sponsored a Township Clean Communities Day/Carnival/Flea Market that was a major success and attended by over 1500 residents. We purchase clean up supplies and materials for all involved in cleanups as well as equipment that is used on a daily basis by the Department of Public Works for roadside maintenance and the purchase of Litter enforcement signage and storm drain labels . We are very proud to announce our partnership with PNC Bank of Jackson Township who have joined us in our efforts and have contributed to our cause through monetary donations and volunteer work. Thank you to Branch Manager Tina Clark and her staff at PNC for all of their hard work on behalf of our Clean Communities Program
