The Department’s Investigative Services Division is responsible for both the pro-active and re-active investigation of crimes against both persons and property. Some of the additional responsibilities of the Division include crime scene processing and evidence collection, background investigations of new police employees and investigations related to Alcoholic Beverage Control
Currently, the Investigative Services Division is supervised by Captain Richard Wagner who is a 16 year veteran of the department. Captain Wagner began his law enforcement career with the Point Pleasant Beach Police Department and is a graduate of Rutgers University. He is assisted in his supervisory duties by Detective Sergeant Denis Campbell who is a 21 year member of the agency. The Detective Bureau is currently staffed by five Detectives responsible for conducting general criminal investigations, one Detective specifically assigned to investigate all matters directly related to the involvement of juvenile offenders, and one Detective responsible for the evidence and identification functions as well as Megan's Law registration duties for the Department.
All members of the Investigative Services Division remain committed to improving the quality of life for all the residents of Jackson Township, and we encourage everyone to assist us in anyway they can in that endeavor.
