JACKSON TOWNSHIP TO HONOR MICHAEL GIOIA WITH STREET DEDICATION
West Lake Court to be Renamed Michael “Mikey” Gioia Way
JACKSON, NJ — Jackson Township will formally rename West Lake Court as Michael “Mikey” Gioia Way in honor of Michael Gioia, a young township resident whose life was tragically lost in a car accident on October 8.
“Even though he’s not able to come home, that was his last destination; that was his final resting place in a way,” said his mother, Danielle Gioia.
A street dedication ceremony will take place on December 17 at 3:00 p.m. Members of the Jackson Township Police Department will be present, along with Mayor Jennifer Kuhn and Council President Mordechai Burnstein. Friends, family, and community members who knew Mikey are invited to attend.
The Township hopes this permanent tribute will provide comfort, healing, and a lasting place of remembrance for those whose lives were touched by Mikey.
The public is welcome and encouraged to join the Gioia family in honoring Mikey and supporting all who have been affected by this heartbreaking loss.
