Snow Clean Up

In the event of a snow storm, Jackson Township recommends the following Snow Clean Up Procedures:

  • Move all vehicles, trailers, campers, motor homes, recreational vehicles, etc. from the streets and roads
  • Remove any and all garbage and recycling receptacles from the streets and roads
  • Remove all sports related equipment from the streets and roads
  • Do not throw, place or deposit snow or ice into or upon the streets and roads


If an EMERGENCY DECLARATION is called during a snow event, the following Snow Clean Up Procedures are as follows per Ordinance 07-15:

  • Snow Removal Emergency Declarations will be called by The Mayor and/or Emergency Management Coordinator of Jackson township by issue of a media release to the local radio and cable vision stations, news media and the Township's website
  • Residents have 4 hours after the snow removal emergency declaration to move their vehicles from the streets and roads within the boundaries of Jackson Township.
  • Ticketing and towing of vehicles will commence 4 hours after the declaration. Towing before the snow actually starts is necessary to ensure clear streets and roads for the plows.
  • All costs associated with towing any vehicle will be the responsibility of the registered owner
  • All sports related equipment shall be removed from the streets and roads
  • All trash receptacles shall be removed from the streets and roads
  • No person, firm or corporation, owner, tenant or occupant of any premises on any street or road shall throw, place or deposit snow or ice into or upon the streets and roads within the boundaries of Jackson Township
  • Failure to follow these procedures during an EMERGENCY DECLARATION snow event can result in penalties. A list of these penalties can be found on page 2: ORDINANCE 07-15


In the event personal property such as a mailbox is damaged, the procedure goes as follows:

  • Call Jackson Township Public Works Department at 732-928-1311 to report the damage


When snow removal clean up begins:

  • Contractors are called in when there are 3-5 inches of snow accumulated
